Requirements
The Design Services Manager will manage print text design projects for the Humanities and Sciences/Social Sciences; consult/advise on epub visual design as related to print text design projects.

  • *Evaluate and assign print text design projects to outside vendors
  • *Ensure quality, efficiency, brand fidelity, and good communication throughout design process; formulate processes/practices
  • *Hold/attend meetings with project teams to evaluate design work and gather feedback; make recommendations based on feedback
  • *Develop strategies for efficiency and cost-savings in design workflow
  • Offer ideas for print design to epub design relationship to achieve design goals

    Skills/experience required:

    Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite

  • 5+ years managing print design in higher-ed publishing
    Essential: -Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign
    -5+ years managing print design in higher-ed publishing
    -Experience with Humanities, STEM, and Social Sciences disciplines
    Desirable: -Experience with ebook design CSS and/or EPUB3 standards as they relate to visual design
    -Experience with accessibility issues in design as it relates to content publishing

    Educational Requirements: BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent education
